A couple of "Get Ready" entries! Great idea ��/thread!

Here's mine:

---BURNING for LOVE (Infectious riff & the chord progression is very similar to future, more successful songs like "Careless Whisper" & "Back To Black". It gives you a picture of a young love/lust hungry protagonist very well.)

---SILENT NIGHT (Incredible guitar solo, haunting '80s vibes. I also have no issues when something gets "dated" , like some claim the synth sound here did. On the contrary, there's nothing that puts you in a certain melancholic frame of mind like a well placed synth. Early signs of Jon, the lover torn in love & being wistful.)

--- WANTED DEAD or ALIVE (Easiest pick, it's the Greatest Song Ever Made)

---BAD MEDICINE (Tough pick, it really is an album of all killers! I chose this because even a morose fan like me needs some levity. The guitar tone is worth a million bucks, the riffing is insane & that solo is a face melter. The lyrics are fun & the band is in great spirits.)

---DRY COUNTY (After levity, sadness pays a visit. This is epic. November Rain doesn't hold a candle to the depth on display here. The subject & metaphor is too mature for a mainstream audience, & the musicianship is maxed out.)

---THESE DAYS (A difficult pick, because I consider this the GREATEST ALBUM EVER made. I can hum every riff & lick & vocal melody on the record in my sleep & often have.)

--- JUST OLDER (I think apart from the usual reasons, I love this one for its post solo bridge section. It's classic Bon Jovi gone right. Hits all the right tear ducts. A beautiful vocal performance from our CEO)

--- OPEN ALL NIGHT (It ends the album on a laidback, sombre note. Loneliness is painted so well by Jon at times. I believe "These arms are open all night" could serve as an equally fantastic sequel to this.


--- HAVE A NICE DAY ( The most generic entry in my list. The reason is nostalgia. This was the first single I had the privilege of listening to as a music video before it's release. It was on twice a day on the TV (where I'm from) & I would wait with so much anticipation as a bandsick 18 year old to watch it again & again. I love the short & apt guitar solo which was becoming a rarity even back then in rock music. )

--- ANY OTHER DAY (Like I said, Jon paints loneliness so well at times. The live version is how this song should have been. A lack of long outros on studio versions signalled diminishing musical quality from the band. "Thorn in my side" was another case in point from the next album)

--- THORN IN MY SIDE (See above; Like Any Other Day, I think the band faltered by introducing a positive touch to both these songs. They should have remained sombre/depressing for maximal impact. "Maybe luck and love will pull us through" doesn't sit right when "you're sitting down in a Sea of Blankets pulling them up over your head. I hope you get my point.)


--- INTO THE ECHO (I know it's not on the standard editions but it's just a great song from the very first measure. If I had to choose from the standard album version, I'd choose "Thick as Thieves", as it's corny Bon Jovi in the right way. I even dig the electric chair line ��.)
